Empowering Educators for a Safer Digital Future

In today's digital-first world, security is no longer a choice; it’s an imperative. As more and more of the focus moves towards technology in education, it becomes increasingly crucial that both teachers and students know what responsible internet use is. With this vision, a Capacity Building Program on Cyber Safety & Security was conducted for educators and school leaders on 25 October at Samashti International School, Kollur, Hyderabad, to enhance their competencies in safe digital practices.

The event was specifically designed to bring teachers together to learn about the issues children are facing on the digital platform and how they can effectively manage their pupils through them. The session focused on making participants aware of the ways to produce safe learning environments, how to spot online threats, protect personal data, and build good digital ethics.

We are proud to share that our Director, Mr. Bere Venugopal, represented MNR Indo-English Schools as a Resource Person for the session. With his extensive experience in education and leadership, Mr. Venugopal addressed the pressing need for cyber awareness in schools. He emphasized that as educators, it is our shared responsibility to not only teach students about the power of technology but also about its responsible use. His insights encouraged teachers to integrate digital safety lessons into their daily teaching practices and to empower students to become responsible digital citizens.

There were meaningful inputs from the Resource Person, Mrs.Swathi L, Headmistress of Araka School and who held it with great zeal, co-hosted by Venue Director, Mrs. Helen Mary, Head of Samashti International School. They developed a dynamic opportunity for us to identify our challenges, share best practices, and strategies for keeping technology safe in education.

At MNR Scottsdale School, we believe that as a school, we are all responsible for leading our students' digital footprint. Initiatives such as the Capacity Building Program contribute towards our resolve to prepare a generation that is not only technologically adept, but cyber-secure.

Even as technology continues to progress, we also have to up our ante in comprehension. Equipping teachers with the correct knowledge and awareness is the beginning of how our children will prosper in a safe online world.
