Celebrating Van Mahotsav 2025 at MNR Scottsdale

Update: 2025-07-09 10:23 GMT

Van Mahotsav is not only a tree-plantation festival, it’s a celebration of life, a reminder of our responsibilities towards Mother Earth, and an occasion to pass on to our children our reverence for nature. At MNR Scottsdale, we believe in cultivating an environmental ethos amongst students through practical experiences, artistic expression, and collaborative action.

Our Van Mahotsav celebration this year was colourful and purposeful with great ardour, creativity, and enlightenment. It embodied our deep belief that education happens outside of textbooks, and nature is part of any child’s education.

Why Van Mahotsav Matters

Van Mahotsav is more than just a tree-plantation festival, it is a festival of life itself and a festival for enkindling the young minds with an awareness of Mother Earth and the environment. At MNR Scottsdale, it’s about building and nurturing an environmental attitude within students through first-hand experiences, creativity and group participation.

Colourful, Purposeful This year our Van Mahotsav was colourful and purposeful with high zeal, creativity and enlightenment. It simply reflected our profound belief that education occurs beyond the confines of textbooks and that nature is an essential element in the education of any child.

Painting Trees, Creating Green Art

Art is an expressive way for children to communicate with the world around them, and what better subject than nature? Our art corner was transformed into a green gallery with our artwork about trees, forests, animals, and the need to live in a green planet.

From finger-painted trees to collage-based landscapes, each piece of artwork carried a message: “Let’s protect what gives us life.”

These works of art were hung all over the school, making the hallways a walk through the woods.

Our artistic students put their masterpieces on display with stunning artwork showing our Mother Earth and the marvellous nature we live in. With their artworks and creative writings, they reminded us about the significance of protecting our planet.

The main purpose of participating in such activities is to make students want to reconnect with the environment, learn to respect what nature gives us and then they will feel the urge to form a solid commitment toward protecting and saving the earth for a better future.

Student Speeches: Young Voices for a Greener Earth

We had to have a special assembly, with every child doing, or speaking, (some read beautiful poems) about how trees matter, global warming and how if we change our little bits of how we do or even appreciate a little of our daily lives and that of friends does and we can make a big difference to our world.

Going Beyond the Day

Van Mahotsav at MNR Scottsdale is not confined to just one-day festivities. It is a vade mecum for year-round green action. Our school continues to encourage students to the upkeep of a small herbal garden.

These programs are incorporated into our curriculum to make sure green values are an aspect of a student’s daily thinking and activities.

Conclusion

Van Mahotsav celebration at MNR Scottsdale wasn't just restricted to planting of trees, but was planted with the motto of planting values. This taught our students that they are empowered to save, conserve, and promote green.

Being among the top schools in Hyderabad, we are committed to grooming responsible citizens where the students are academically superior, emotionally balanced, and environmentally conscious.

And who knows, a child who loves trees today grows up to save the planet tomorrow.
